Ian Collins

Over the past twenty five years Ian has held a number of senior management positions in both the energy and telecommunications sectors. He is currently owner and President of Claremont Holdings Corp. a firm specializing in business strategy and management outsourcing for small and medium enterprises. Ian’s roles include working with private equity organizations on Mergers and Acquisitions as well as providing short term senior leadership transition during substantial organizational change. Ian currently works with business owners and CEO’s in an advisory role developing their leadership skills and management techniques through an organization called CEO Global Network as both a group leader for his Entrepreneur to Enterprise group as well as COO and sits on two Advisory Boards of technology companies in the telecom and ICT sectors.
Prior to this Ian was President of Atria Networks a telecommunications provider where he was responsible for the strategic growth of the network operator through organic and acquisition of other telecommunications assets, successfully integrating them into one organization prior to its sale to Rogers for $425 Million.
In 2009 as acting President of Cogeco Data Services Ian directed the integration of Toronto Hydro Telecom Inc into Cogeco Cable following the successful sale of THTI to Cogeco for $205 Million. As VP of Operations at Toronto Hydro Telecom Ian provided strategic leadership in operations leading the transition from a dark fibre telecom provider into one of Toronto’s largest pure fibre optic based Metro Ethernet and datacentre colocation providers. Ian developed the platform for Cogeco Data Services later launch into the datacentre business.
Prior to joining Toronto Hydro Telecom Ian held various senior management positions at Hamilton Hydro including President of Fibrewired the utility owned telecommunications provider, President of Hamilton Community Energy a district energy provider to the City of Hamilton and various engineering positions for the electrical distribution utility including Director of Engineering and Operations.

Ian is a Professional Engineer and has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University and a Diploma in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier.
